Perry is Perry is a Chicago native, birthed to Laurie Metcalf and Jeff Perry. On the ABC sitcom Roseanne (as as seen through flashback) her mother played Jackie Harris in two of Perry's initial TV roles. Her parents, however, didn't want her to take on acting roles until she was older and worried about the consequences of stress. Perry claimed that she was timid to perform at the age of 16, but she began performing at Northwestern University as a way to meet new people after she transferred from Boston University. Perry went on to New York, where she was offered small roles in shows such as Law & Order: Criminal Intent. Home sickiness caused Perry home to California which was where theatre jobs were available. She performed on Broadway as a part of The Other Place with her mother in 2013. In the year 2015, she was with Kevin McKidd alongside her mother in Eugene O'Neill's Pulitzer-winning Drama Anna Christie. Odyssey Theatre Ensemble Odyssey Theatre Ensemble is located in West Los Angeles. Perry starred in nine episodes in 2016 of ABC's drama The Family. In 2017, she played an recurring role in her own ABC Political thriller Scandal with her father. In addition, she played the younger Mary Cooper in Young Sheldon - a CBS spin-off from The Big Bang Theory. The part was offered by audition regardless of the fact that she was a cousin with the role.
